T'Chad McAlman enters his first year as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach in 2026-27.
Coach McAlman comes to Henderson State from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, where he has served since June of 2022 as the Director of Video Operations. While working for the Jaguars, McAlman was part of a staff that led the team to its first postseason berth since 2007. USA also won 20 or more games in back-to-back seasons and made appearances in the Sun Belt conference tournament semifinals and finals.
While in Mobile, McAlman assisted in coordinating recruiting visits and material, while helping with scouting, video, and game planning. He was also responsible for the team's student managers, equipment inventory, and served as a strength and conditioning intern.
Coach McAlman is a survivor of Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the blood and lymphatic systems. He received an Anchor Award from MD Anderson Center for chemotherapy completion.
A Mobile, Alabama native, McAlman earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from South Alabama in 2022 after completing his associate degree in Health and Physical Education at Coastal Alabama Community College in 2019.
