Henderson State University Athletics

SPRING 2020: Played two tournaments in 2020, with his best outcome coming at The Arkansas Collegiate, tallying 157 (+13) for a 15th place finish.  
 
FALL 2019: One top-10 finish coming at the MSSU Fall Invitational, shooting 142 (-2),  including a final round of 68 (-4), tying the fourth lowest round by an HSU player on the season . . . Averaged 74.5 strokes through 10 rounds.

SPRING 2019: Played in two tournaments in the spring . . . 77.29 stroke average in three events played on the year . . . Best finish came at the Battle for Hilton Head, where he shot 152 (+8) to tie for 28th.

FALL 2018: Shot 222 (+6) at the Battle for the Belt in Hot Springs, where he posted a year-low round of 73 (+1) in his only fall event.

SPRING 2018:  Finished tied for 21st in the Spring HSU Invitational with a three-day score of 231. . . His low round of the year was a 76, which Woods carded twice at the Dave Falconer Classic, and twice at the HSU Invitational. 

FALL 2017:  Finished tied for 44th in the HSU Invitational with a three-day score of 239. 

SPRING 2017: Tied for 23rd at the Southern Bancorp Invitational with a 54-hole total of 229 which included a final round of 72 . . . Finished the year with a 75.57 stroke average in 14 rounds.

FALL 2016: Played in three of five tournaments placing seventh in the GIC Invitational . .  .Finished with an even par 216 at the GIC Invitational having rounds of 74, 68 and 74 . . . Had a round of 71 at the Central Region Preview.

PREP: Attended Summerville (S.C.) High School . . . Earned Class AAAA All-State honors in 2015. . . Shot a 3-under score of 69 on the first day of the 2015 Class AAAA state tournament . . . Placed ninth as an individual at the state tournament to receive All-state honors . . .  Also qualified for the state tournament as an individual his eighth-grade year and played with the Green Wave team there as a sophomore . . . Received all-region honors four of his six seasons at SHS . . . Also earned two academic letters and a pair of cross country letters while at SHS . . . Was the 2014 Summerville Country Club (Miler) Men’s Champion.

PERSONAL: Born December 31, 1996 . . . Son of Kirk and Trina Woods. . . Hobbies include hunting and fishing. . . Majoring in Finance.
