Wally Senter begins his fifth season as assistant coach with the Henderson State swimming and diving program in 2021-22. Senter came to Henderson after spending 2016 coaching the Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club in Woodstock, Georgia.
Working with one of the top 100 ranked clubs in USA Swimming, Senter worked out of the Mountain View location in Marietta, Georgia, where he was the lead coach for the high school level group and the pre-competitive group that consisted of children ages 6-11.
Senter also spent a year (2015-16) as a coaching intern at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. Part of his duties included designing and running the strength & conditioning program, as well as assisting with recruiting and was also in charge of social media. During his time at Lindsey Wilson, Senter helped guide the men’s team to an eighth-place finish at NAIA National Championships, and the women a to sixth-place showing. Eleven swimmers earned individual All-American honors, with 28 school records broken. In addition, both teams were named Scholar All-Americans by the CSCAA for the fall of 2015 and spring of 2016.
Senter served as a coach at Dynamo Swim Club in Atlanta from 2014 to 2015.
Senter earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communications with concentrations in public relations and advertising from Georgia College & State University in August 2014.
