Brian Gold begins his first season as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Henderson State in 2022-23.

Gold comes to HSU from Cleveland State University, where he served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach during the 2021-22 season. Prior to that, Gold saw coaching stints at Notre Dame College, Baldwin Wallace University and Wayne State University from 2017-2020, where his responsibilities included being the video coordinator, scouting opponents, training offensive positions and providing statistical analysis. In addition to coaching at the collegiate level, Gold spent six years coaching at the club level, most recently at the Academy Volleyball Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio where his AVC16-2 team qualified for USAV Nationals in the 16 American division in 2021. One year prior, Gold's 15-2 team won the Adidas Bluegrass Tournament in 15 Premier in 2020.
In 2018 and 2019, Gold coached at Legacy Volleyball Club in Detroit, Michigan, leading his National 16-3 East squad to a Top-5 finish in the Classic division at AAU Nationals, while also serving as an assistant coach for Legacy 15 Elite and finishing No. 10 in the Open division. In addition, Gold was an assistant coach on the staff of the Lakeshore Region's Girls' Youth Team when they finished fifth at the 2019 USAV High Performance Championships held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Before joining the coaching ranks, Gold played for the Grand Valley State University Men's Club Volleyball Team, where he was trained as a Libero, Outside Hitter and a Setter. Gold also served as an Executive Board Member with the team for three years, planning fundraiser activities for the club where he helped raise over $6,000 annually. During this time, Gold started on his coaching path working as a student assistant for three seasons with GVSU volleyball, including handling film recording and breakdown for the 2014 team that reached the NCAA DII Final Four. Gold was born in Detroit and was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan while being an alum of GVSU, where he was a double major in Sports Management and Broadcasting, earning his two Bachelor of Science degrees in 2016.
