The senior third baseman recorded a .800 batting average during a 2-1 conference series victory this past weekend at home over East Central Oklahoma.

The Jacksonville, Ark. native went 8-for-10 at the plate throughout the series with five runs batted in, one run scored and one double.

Ussery was hit by a pitch twice during the three-game set to up his weekly on-base percentage to .900.

He was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI in the series-opening 10-5 victory over ECU on Friday, and added another multi-hit game in the first game on Saturday with a perfect 3-for-3 outing with two RBI in a 6-2 win.

In the series finale, Ussery went 1-for-2 at the plate. At one point during the three-game series Ussery collected seven straight hits.

Ussery becomes the third GAC player of the week honoree from Henderson State this season, following teammates Dusty Hudson (March 20) and Taylor Coleman (February 21).
