OBU SWIMS PAST HENDERSON STATE

Henderson State finished its regular-season dual meet schedule as both the Red Wave and Lady Red Wave lost to Ouachita Baptist.

The Red Wave was edged by the Tiger Sharks 126-114, while OBU was dominant in its win over the Lady Red Wave 146-96.

Robert Fisher led the Red Wave with a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle having a time of 10:25.01. The Red Wave also took second and third in the event as Andrew Mangel turned in a time of 10:25.63, with Will Parmer completing the 1-2-3 sweep with a time of 10:25.73.

Fisher later returned to win the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:57.13.

Nick James recorded a win in the 200 backstroke (1:56.75) and placed second in the 200 individual medley (1:57.48).

In the 50 freestyle event, Adam Milecz turned in a second-place finish (21.77), while teammate Terrance Fogle was third (22.00).
Marcus McClarn won both the 1 meter and 3 meter diving events, with Scotty Serio placing second in both events.

Henderson ended the day winning the 400 freestyle relay as the team of Fogle, Fisher, Milecz and Pete Schneider turned in a time of 3:09.49.

Natalie Gallant claimed the lone win in the women's swimming events with a victory in the 100 freestyle (54.16). Gallant also was second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.70).
Jeanne Miller had a three second-place finishes in the 1000 freestyle (10:54.75), the 200 butterfly (2:11.47), and the 500 freestyle (5:18.72).

Also recording second-place finishes were Erikka Dominguez in the 200 backstroke (2:18.22), and Catie Morrow in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.11).

In the diving competition, Caitlin Cavert placed first in the 1-meter event (225.90), while Anna Evans was second (197.33). Cavert also placed third in the 3-meter (137.40), with teammate Caitlin Carter placing second (183.68).
