Henderson State won seven of 13 events as the Red Wave swim team opened the 2012-13 season with a 146.5 to 92.5 win over Ouachita Baptist.
After the Tiger sharks won the first two events,
Robert Fisher cruised to victory in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.66, four seconds faster than his closest competitor. Teammate
Aaron Villemez placed third in the event having a time of 1:47.52.
Fisher also placed second in 100 yard freestyle with a time of 46.76, while Villemez placed fourth with a finishing time of 48.79.
The Red Wave finished first and second in the 200 yard individual medley as
Nicholas James won the event with a time of 1:58.57, with Guy Buls touching the wall at 1:59.14.
James also won the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 50.89, while Buls returned later in the meet to win the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:01.04.
Adam Milecz was second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.28 with Denver Dawson placing third (21.88).
Dylan Anderson had a pair of second-place finishes in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:07.23) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:04.54). Shea Bielby won the 500 free by posting a time of 5:03.11.
Erik Johannessen won the one-meter diving competition with a score of 135.30and was second in the three-meter event with a score of 124.80.
Collin Lightfoot won the three-meter dive having a score of 128.20, while finishing third in the one-meter competition.
The Red Wave 200 yard freestyle relay team capped off the evening winning the event as Fisher, James, Villemez, and Milecz finished with a time of 1:24.11.
