Box Score Melvin Haynes scored a game-high 20 points to lead Henderson State to a 94-71 win over Central Baptist, Monday at the Lions Club Tip Off Classic in Jessieville, Ark.
Henderson State, 4-0 on the season, had four players score in double-figures including
Joe McCoy who had a career-high 19 points. McCoy was 7-of-13 from the field and grabbed five rebounds.
Jonathan Fitzgerald added 17 points while having 6 rebounds and 5 assists, with
Andrew Ensley scoring 10 points while grabbing 5 boards.
Central Baptist, 1-6 on the season, was led by Carl Corman who totaled 13 points.
Henderson State forced 23 Central Baptist turnovers with the Reddies scoring 21 points off the Mustang miscues.
Henderson State ended the game hitting on 37-of-79 shots from the field for 47 percent, while the Mustangs connected on 26-of-59 shots for 44 percent.
Henderson State will now take a 10 day break before the Reddies play host to Southeastern Oklahoma to begin Great American Conference play on November 29 at the Duke Wells Center.
