RED WAVE SWIM TEAMS BEAT OBU

RESULTS

Henderson State opened the 2013-14 swimming season in winning fashion as Red Wave and Lady Red Wave beat Ouachita Baptist, Friday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Red Wave easily cruised to a 151-89 victory while the Lady Red Wave swam past the Lady Tiger Sharks 117-95.

Guy Bols led the Red Wave with wins in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 backstroke. Bols recorded a time of 1:56.74 in the 200 IM and a mark of 52.27 in the 100 backstroke.

Also having first-place finishes were Brandon Curley in the 100 butterfly (52.34), Aaron Villemez in the 100 freestyle (48.60), Colton Laramore in the 500 freestyle (4:46.72), and Bence Greifenstein in the 100 breaststroke (58.75).

Adam Zmijewski took first place in both the 1 meter diving (213 points) and the 3 meter event (205.5), while Dalton Walthall was runner up in both events having a score of 142.6 in the 1 meter dive and 149.05 in the 3-meter.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Denver Dawson, Curley, Paul Bayliss and Villemez capped off the meet with a victory, touching the wall in a time of 1:27.39.

Lauren Sutton led the Lady Red Wave winning two events. Sutton began with a victory in the 200 freestyle posting a time of 1:59.23 then returned later in the meet to win the 100 freestyle in a time of 53.49.

Jeanne Miller took first-place in the 100 butterfly in a time of 58.91, while Melissa Ralston won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.20.

Miller also took second-place in the 1000 freestyle (10:51.53) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.20).

Jessica Jones scored nine points by finishing first in the 1 meter diving with a score of 120.70.

The 200 medley relay team of Mary Allison Andrews, Melissa Ralston, Erin Beu and Sutton opened the meet with a victory as the quartet swam the event in a time of 1:51.31.
