RED WAVE SWIM TEAMS LOSE TO DELTA STATE

RESULTS

Delta State edged Henderson State in men's swimming as the Statesmen beat the Red Wave 123-120, Friday at the Duke Wells Center.

The Lady Statesmen completed the sweep as they swam past the Lady Red Wave 147-80.

The Red Wave won six of 13 events led by Colton Laramore who won two events.

Laramore recorded victories in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:50.12 and returned later in the meet to capture the 500 freestyle touching the wall in 4:47.19.

Guy Buls claimed victory in the 400 individual medley (4:09.80). Guy also placed second in the 100 backstroke (52.31).

Also recording wins were Aaron Villemez in the 100 freestyle (47.92) and Bence Greifenstein in the 100 breaststroke (59.05).

The 200 freestyle relay completed the meet with an impressive win as Austin Bryant, Brandon Curley, Denver Dawson, and Villemez swam the event in a time 1:27.04.

Jessica Jones won both diving events for the Lady Red Wave claiming victory in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 163.95. Jones also won the 3-meter diving with a score of 132.70.

Jeanne Miller won the lone swimming event for Henderson as she claimed the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.57. Miller also had a third place finish in the 400 individual medley (4:45.22).

Henderson State will next take part in the Trinity Invitational in Southlake, Texas, November 22 and 23.
