REDDIES LOSE TO NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA 81-64

Northwestern Oklahoma went on a late 24-3 run to beat Henderson State 81-64, Saturday in Alva, Okla.

After Melvin Haynes gave Henderson State a 61-57 lead at the 7:58 mark with a 3-point field goal, Northwestern Oklahoma held the Reddies to just one field goal the remainder of the game.

 Henderson State, 12-12 overall and 7-11 in the Great American Conference, hit just 1-of-11 field goal attempts during the Ranger surge. Henderson's final bucket was a 3-point field goal by Joe McCoy with 3:44 left in the game.

Northwestern Oklahoma, 13-10 overall and 11-6 in the GAC, was 7-for-8 from the field down the stretch and was 7-for-7 from the foul line.

Andrew Ensley ended the game with 22 points and 8 rebounds, while McCoy finished with 13 points.

Jonathan Freemyer led NWOSU with 21 points, while Daryl Glover and Marshall Bell scored 16 points each.

Henderson State shot a dismal 34 percent from the field making just 23-of-68 attempts, while the Rangers were 28-of-58 from the floor for 48 percent.

Henderson State will next play host to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday in the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine with the opening tip set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
