REDDIE FACE SAU TO BEGIN BUSY WEEK

 
Henderson State returns home and will begin a busy week beginning with Tuesday's rescheduled game against Southern Arkansas with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
 
 The two teams were originally scheduled to play on December 7, but inclement weather forced the postponement of the game.
 
Following Tuesday's tilt with the Muleriders, the Reddies will play host to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday in the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine beginning at 7:30 p.m.
 
Henderson State will finish the week on the road as the Reddies head to Monticello to take on Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip.
           
Henderson State enters the week with a 7-9 record overall and a 3-5 mark in league play after ending a three-game losing streak on Saturday with an 81-77 win over Northwestern Oklahoma.
 
Melvin Haynes had the hot hand last week averaging 21 points in a pair of games.  Haynes was hot from beyond the 3-point arc hitting on 10-of-16 attempts. The Akron, Ohio product is averaging 13.1 points per contest.
 
Deiorvay Johnson leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 14.7 points per game. The Fort Worth, Texas product is one of the top 3-point shooters in the league hitting 48 percent from beyond the arc (31-for-65).      
 
Southern Arkansas enters the game with a 6-7 record overall and a 3-5 mark in GAC play after a 63-58 win over Arkansas Tech last Saturday.
 
SAU ranks fourth in the league in scoring averaging 77.6 points per game. The Muleriders lead the league in steals averaging 9.3 thefts per game.
 
Chauncy Williams leads Southern Arkansas in scoring averaging 18.0 points per contest. Williams did not play during the fall semester and played in his first game on January 2 scoring 22 points against Southeastern Oklahoma.
 
 Williams has led the team in scoring in four of the five games he has played and has knocked down 19-of-46 3-point field goals for 41.3 percent.
             
Jeffrey Walker follows averaging 13.5 points per game while grabbing 7.7 rebounds per game.
Henderson leads the all-time series against Southern Arkansas having a 98-68 advantage is a series which began in 1927. Since joining the GAC, the teams have split the series with each team winning on their home court. Since 2000 the Reddies have an 18-11 record.
