Box Score For the second consecutive week, Henderson State place kicker Houston Ray has been named the Great American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in last week's 63-14 win over Northwestern Oklahoma.

The freshman from Owensboro, Ky. set a Henderson State and GAC record for points by a kicker with 19 against the Rangers.

Ray had field goals of 27, 35, 38 and 39 yards to set a Henderson record for field goals in a game.

Ray, who leads the nation in field goals made per game (2.20), was also 7-for-7 on point after touchdowns.

On the year, Ray is 11-for-14 on field goals including going 3-for-3 on field goals of 40 yards or more with his longest being a 43-yard kick against Nicholls State.

He has been successful on 29-of-30 extra points and leads the GAC in scoring averaging 12.2 points per game.

Ray is tied for fifth in field goals made in a season at Henderson. Keith Bryan, who was a NAIA All-American for the Reddies in 1985, holds the single season record with 19 field goals on 25 attempts.
