Having already earned a spot in the GAC Tournament next week, Henderson State is playing for seeding purposes as the Lady Reddies take on Ouachita Baptist in the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine on Thursday at Bill Vining Arena with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.

Henderson State is currently in sixth-place among eligible teams with Ouachita Baptist, having also clinched a spot in the tournament, in eighth-place.

Henderson State, 13-11 overall and 8-10 in the GAC, will attempt to win their ninth conference game for the first time since 2006 when Henderson went 14-2 as members of the Gulf South Conference.

Krystal Beachum has been playing her best basketball averaging 25.8 points per game in the last five games. The senior from Mexia, Texas is averaging 16.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Earlier this week, Beachum was named GAC Player of the Week after averaging 37.0 points, 10.0 rebounds in two games against Southwestern Oklahoma and Northwesterb Oklahoma.

Beachum will also be attempting to become only the ninth player in HSU history to score 1000 points in a career. In her 78 game career, she has totaled 990 points.
Aungelique Sledge is also looking to reach a milestone as well. The leading scorer in the GAC averaging 20.4 points per game, Sledge will become only the eighth Lady Reddie to score 500 points in a season. Sledge enters Thursday's game with 490 points in 24 games this year.

Ouachita Baptist enters the game having an 8-16 record overall and a 6-12 mark in the GAC. The Lady Tigers average just 66.6 points per game which ranks eighth in the GAC. OBU has also had its shooting troubles ranking last in the GAC at 37.8 percent shooting.   Â
Nashia James leads the team in scoring averaging 14.6 points per contest. James also leads the team in rebounding pulling down 5.8 boards per game.
Breanna Harris follows averaging 9.7 points per game while averaging 3.3 rebounds.  Â

The two teams met earlier this season with Henderson State putting on a dominating performance as the Lady Reddies cruised to a 78-49 win.

Sledge ended with 18 points and 8 rebounds to pace the Lady Reddies, while Beachum had another strong performance scoring 17 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.Â
