LADY REDDIES FINISH REGULAR-SEASON WITH A 62-54 LOSS TO SAU

Henderson State completed its regular-season schedule with a 62-54 loss to Southern Arkansas, Saturday in Magnolia, Ark.

Vanessa Pieper and Aungelique Sledge led the Lady Reddies with 15 points each, while Dulinica Keener recorded her sixth double-double of the year scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Krystal Beachum saw limited action playing just five minutes.

In the game, Sledge recorded her 500th point of the season becoming only the eight Lady Reddie to achieve the feat in school history.

Southern Arkansas was led by Chanel Miller who scored 12 points, while Miranda Grier totaled 11.

Henderson State made just 13-of-25 free throws for 52 percent, while the Lady Muleriders took advantage of their free throws making 23-of-27 for a hot 85 percent from the charity stripe.

Both teams had troubles shooting from the field as the Lady Reddies converted on 18-of-53 shots from the field for 34 percent, while SAU shot 32 percent making 19-of-59 shots.

SAU also won the battle of the boards by outrebounding the Lady Reddies 46 to 38.

The Lady Reddies, 13-13 overall and 8-12 in the Great American Conference, will enter next week's GAC Tournament as the sixth-seed.

Henderson State will open the GAC Tournament on Friday, March 7 against No. 3 seed Southwestern Oklahoma in Bartlesville, Okla. with tip-off set for Noon.
