In the final tune up before the conference championships, the Henderson State Red Wave swim teams recorded wins over Wayland Baptist on Saturday in Little Rock, Ark.
The Red Wave men recorded a 119-87 victory, while the women won by a score of 141-44. The University of Arkansas-Little Rock beat the Red Wave women 153-66.
The men began the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay as the foursome of
Garrett Duncan,
Alex Tytarenko,
Hunter Arnold,
Max Pohl turned in a time of 1:41.37.
Guy Buls captured wins in the 500 freestyle (4:53.65) and the 1000 freestyle (10:16.28), while Pohl had wins in the 200 freestyle (1:47.42) and the 100 freestyle (48.14).
Elliott Hill swam a time of 4:23.01 to win the 400 individual medley, with
Adam Zmijewski winning the 3-meter diving event with 224.35 total points.
Colton Laramore had second-place finishes in both the 50 freestyle (22.24) and the 400 individual medley (4:23.43).
The Red Wave women were without the services of several swimmers due to illness.
Lauren Sutton swam to victory in the 200 freestyle (1:58.88). Sutten also placed second in the 100 freestyle having a time of 55.15.
Henderson State had several second-place finishes in the meet including
Maddie Samples in both the 50 freestyle (25.53) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.69).
Sarah Medellin placed second in the 100 butterfly having a time of 1:01.56. Medellin also placed third in the 200 freestyle by touching the wall in a time of 2:05.66.
Jessica Miller also had a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle finishing with a time of 5:27.06.
