The Henderson State volleyball team fell just short of a comeback victory at Northwestern Oklahoma, falling in five sets in Great American Conference action to the Lady Rangers on Friday night.
After dropping the first two sets 25-19 and 25-19, the Reddies put together a furious comeback to claim the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-17.
However, HSU would eventually fall in the final set 15-5.
Jessie Jacoby paced the Reddies contributing 16 kills on the night, while
Kaylie Pyles followed closely behind with 15.
Gabby Ginapp also pitched in nine kills for the HSU offensive attack.
Jacoby,
Sydney Skelton, and
Brea May all pitched in 10 digs defensively for the Reddies, while May led in set assists with 37.
May also contributed four service aces on the night.
The Reddies amassed seven total blocks for the contest while limiting the Lady Rangers to just two, as Ginapp posted five for HSU.
HSU returns to action on Saturday, as the Reddies travel to Weatherford, Okla. to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State with first serve set for 2 p.m. followed by a non-conference match against Oklahoma Panhandle State at 4:30 p.m.
