The Henderson State women's basketball team recorded their first Great American Conference victory of the season on Thursday night with a 70-61 win at Southern Nazarene(0-1, 0-1 GAC) in Bethany, Okla.
A double-double effort from
Dulincia Keener led the way for Henderson State(1-2, 1-0 GAC), as the senior poured in 23 points on 10-of-17 attempts from the field and ripped down 10 boards.
Keener also contributed three steals and a block on the defensive end.
Victoria Stewart had a stellar performance for HSU as well, scoring 16 points, pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out six assists.
The Reddies doubled the Crimson Storm in points in the paint 48-to-24, and also dominated in the rebounding category 34-to-23.
Henderson State finished the night shooting 25-of-61 from the field for 41 percent, while limiting Southern Nazarene to 19-of-65 for 29 percent.
HSU outscored SNU 20-14 in the final quarter of play to preserve the win.
The Reddies return to action on Saturday as they travel to Shawnee, Okla. for another conference matchup at Oklahoma Baptist, with tipoff slated for 1 p.m.
