HSU Volleyball Falls in Battle of the Ravine to Ouachita 3-1

In a four-set Great American Conference clash, the Henderson State volleyball team fell to Ouachita on Tuesday night at the Duke Wells Center.

The Tigers used 57 kills and a .273 attack percentage to defeat the Reddies.

Henderson State was led by Jessie Jacoby, who finished the match with a career-high 23 kills, while Kaylie Pyles pitched in 14.

Brea May also dished out a career-high 47 set assists to lead the way for HSU, while Pyles led in digs with 15.

HSU would fall in the first set by a score of 25-18, as Jacoby led HSU with four kills for the set while Ginapp and Pyles each contributed three.

Sydney Skelton also recorded a team-high 10 digs in the first set.

In the second set, Jacoby added eight kills to pace the Reddies as HSU fell 25-15.

However, HSU claimed a 28-26 victory in the third set on a Pyles kill to give the Reddies new life in the match.

Jacoby would lead all Reddie players in set three as she pitched in nine spikes while Pyles added six.

Ouachita responded in the fourth set, as the Tigers took the set 25-16 and the match 3-1.

The Tigers were led by Abby Pickett who contributed 20 kills, while Kori Bullard had 16.

Henderson State will return to action for a GAC matchup against Harding on Thursday with first serve set for 6 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
