Henderson State recorded its third straight Great American Conference win as the Reddie women's basketball team beat East Central 85-80, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Four Reddies scored in double-figures led by Dulincia Keener who tallied a game-high 22 points hitting on 7-of-10 from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line.

Henderson, 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the GAC, outscored the Tigers 49 to 38 in the second half while shooting 61.5 percent from the field (16-of-26).

The two teams began the game trading buckets as the lead changed hands four times.

Lexis Weber would put the Reddies on top 15-13 with a layup at the 2:12 mark before East Central scored the final seven points of the quarter with the big bucket being a 3-point field goal by Mariah Meyer.

The Reddies would trail by as many as seven points early in the second quarter before Dulincia Keener would knock down a pair of free throws and then score on a driving layup to jump-start Henderson.

Brittany Branum would give HSU a 23-22 lead with 7:28 left in the half when she broke free for an easy layup.

Again the teams would go back-and-forth with HSU having a 34-32 lead with 2:39 left in the half following a Moe Bedford bucket.

ECU would outscore the Reddies 9-2 the remainder of the half making four straight field goals to take a 42-36 lead at the break.

Henderson fought back to take a 51-50 lead in the third quarter behind solid free throw shooting and a pair of 3-point field goals by Megan Hartness.

The Reddies would then outscore ECU 9 to 2 over the next three minutes to take a 60-52 advantage behind a layup and a 3-pointer by Brittany Branum.

The Tigers, 1-4 and 1-2, would get a pair of 3-pointers from Alexa Adair to cut the deficit to 60-58 by the end of the period.

With the game tied at 68-68, Makyndra Simmons gave Henderson the lead for good with a layup off a missed bucket.

The Reddies continued to work the ball inside the remainder of the game and played solid defense to hold off any threat of a comeback by the Tigers.

Hartness would finish the night with 17 points including three 3-point field goals, while Bedford scored 14 points.

Henderson got a double-double performance from Weber who had a career-high 10 points and 12 rebounds.
