Five Reddies scored in double figures as Henderson State(1-6, 1-3 GAC) picked up its first conference win of the season over Southeastern Oklahoma at the Duke Wells Center Saturday afternoon by a score of 87-61.

HSU out-matched SOSU(4-4, 2-2 GAC) in almost every statistical category, including dishing out 19 team assists to just three for the Savage Storm.

The Reddies shot a blistering 60 percent from the field in the first half, knocking down 21-of-35 attempts including 8-of-17 from beyond-the-arc.

Kevin Kozan racked up 15 first half points after going 3-for-5 from three-point range, and finished the game as the leading scorer for HSU with 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field.

Matt Panaggio also provided a huge spark for the Reddies, as the sophomore transfer from Port Orange, Fla. scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-11 attempts.

HSU out-rebounded SOSU 40-to-26, and Panaggio was a huge part of that as he ripped down eight boards.

Senior captain Tavian Pomlee was key in the Reddie attack, pitching in 17 points including 3-of-4 three-point attempts, while also pulling in five rebounds.

Henderson's largest first half lead came at the 1:42 mark as Chandler Walton canned a three-pointer from the right baseline to give HSU a 50-35 advantage over the Savage Storm.

The Reddies would lead by as much as 31 in the second half, as Eric Dailey found a cutting Ben Marello on a backdoor layup to give HSU a 72-41 lead at the 12:53 mark.

The two players rounded out the double-digit scorers for HSU, as Dailey had 11 points in the contest while Marello contributed 10.

Freshman Zydrunas Jurgutis did not attempt a shot in the game, but dished out a career-high seven assists in the game to lead the Reddies at the point guard position.

HSU finished the game shooting making 33-of-65 shots for 51 percent while limiting SOSU to 20-of-51 for just 39 percent.

From the three-point line, HSU was 10-of-23 for 44 percent, while SOSU was 5-of-20 for 25 percent.

HSU returns to action on Tuesday as the team travels to Nacogdoches, Texas to take on Division I opponent Stephen F. Austin with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
