In its Great American Conference home opener on Thursday evening, the Henderson State volleyball team fell in three sets to Southern Arkansas at the Duke Wells Center.
Southern Arkansas(1-2 GAC) would take the first set from HSU 25-17.
Kaylie Pyles and
Jessie Jacoby recorded three kills each in the opening set to pace Henderson State, while Southern Arkansas was led by Shelby Lauterbach with five.
In the second set, HSU(0-3 GAC) would fall 25-14, as
Violet Williams added two kills for the set while Lauterbach racked up four for the Lady Muleriders.
Southern Arkansas would claim the final set 25-18, as Pyles contributed five kills for HSU.
On the night, Pyles led the Reddies with nine total kills and hitting at a .471 percentage.
Williams and
Gabby Ginapp each contributed six kills, as the Reddies finished the contest hitting at .062 percent.
Brea May led HSU in set assists with 14, while
Ryleigh Thompson added 11.
Henderson State returns to action next Tuesday, as the Reddies face Arkansas Tech at the Duke Wells Center with game time set for 6 p.m.
