The Henderson State volleyball team fell in a straight-set match to Arkansas Tech on Tuesday night at the Duke Wells Center.
A tight first set began play, as Arkansas Tech narrowly escaped 25-23.
HSU rallied off 11 kills in the set, while Tech added 13.
Julianna Adams provided three kills to lead the way for the Reddies in the opening set.
In the second set, HSU dropped a 25-20 decision, and would eventually fall in the final set by a score of 25-10.
Jessie Jacoby paced the HSU attack in the second set, as she had five kills.
On the day, Jacoby led HSU with nine kills, while
Kaylie Pyles contributed six.
Brea May dished out 15 set assists for Henderson State, while
Ryleigh Thompson pitched in 11.
Defensively, the Reddies had eight blocks, including six block assists from
Violet Williams.
The Reddies edged out ATU in the block category, as the Golden Suns had five.
HSU ended the match with a .080 hitting percentage, while Tech hit at .200 percent.
The Reddies return to action across the street on Thursday for the Battle of the Ravine at Ouachita Baptist with first serve slated for 6 p.m.
