Reddies Take on Surging Muleriders

Henderson State continues its four game road swing as the Reddies travel to Magnolia, Ark. to face Southern Arkansas on Thursday with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.

SAU is coming off a pair of GAC road wins last week to improve to 3-3 in league play, while the Reddies split on the road and are 2-4 in the GAC.

Southern Arkansas enters the contest with a 6-6 record overall.

The Muleriders are one of the top scoring teams in the league averaging 77.3 points per game. SAU also has a stout 45.3 shooting percentage from the field which ranks third in the league.

Jaron Davis leads the Muleriders averaging 16.6 points per game. Davis also leads the team in assists with 60 on the season which is second best in the GAC.

Davis totaled 35 points in the two games against the Reddies a year ago including 23 points in SAU's 79-69 win over the Reddies.

Deon Andrews follows averaging 13.0 points per contest and is a 41 percent shooter from beyond the 3-point arc.  CJ Elkins also averages double-figures scoring 12.6 points per game.

Henderson will have to box out Denarious Lockhart who averages a team best 7.8 rebounds to go along with his 12.3 points.

Henderson State, 3-8 overall, is coming off a disappointing loss to Northwestern Oklahoma in a game that saw the Reddies commit 17 turnovers and shoot just 55 percent from the foul line.

Kevin Kozan leads Henderson in scoring averaging 14.8 points per game. However, the junior from New Lenox, Ill. totaled just 11 points in the two games last week.

Tavian Pomlee averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds in Henderson's last two games and is averaging 10.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Alouine Mboup has improved tremendously having his best week as a Reddie totaling 25 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Mboup increased his average to 4.9 points and 5.4 rebounds.

Matt Panaggio is scoring 8.6 points per game and leads the team in free throw shooting at 80 percent.
