A career performance from
Dulincia Keener sparked the Henderson State women's basketball team to an 82-64 victory at Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon in Alva, Okla.
The Reddies improved their Great American Conference record to 5-1 overall with the victory, as Keener scored a career-high 45 points on 17-of-26 field goal attempts, a school and GAC record for points in a game.
The previous record was held by former Reddie
Jasmine Settles, as she scored 44 points in the GAC Tournament a season ago against Arkansas Tech.
Keener, a senior from Texarkana, Ark. also pulled down 13 boards for her fifth double-double of the season, and connected on 10-of-12 attempts from the charity stripe.
Henderson State led 35-24 at the break after connecting on 12-of-31 attempts for 39 percent in the opening half, and outscored the Lady Rangers 20-6 in the second quarter.
The Reddies finished the contest making 30-of-63 attempts from the field for an impressive 48 percent, while limiting NWOSU(1-10, 0-6 GAC) to 24-of-77 for 31 percent.
Victoria Stewart also had a stellar performace for the Reddies as the senior from Philadelphia, Miss. Pitched in 17 points on 6-of-12 attempts including 5-of-8 from three.
Stewart also dished out seven assists and pulled down five boards.
Henderson State out-rebounded Northwestern Oklahoma 48-42 in the contest, and dished out 23 helpers to just 16 for the Lady Rangers.
The Reddies return to action on Thursday, as HSU travels to Magnolia, Ark. to take on Southern Arkansas with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
