Henderson State welcomes Oklahoma Baptist for Homecoming with the Reddies and the Bison set for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Saturday at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium/Ruggles Field.

Pregame Homecoming ceremonies begin at 1:30 with the introduction of the 26 candidates for Homecoming Queen, followed by the announcing of the queen and her court.

Oklahoma Baptist enters the game with a 2-6 record having lost its last four games, while Henderson is 6-2 following its loss last week to SAU.Â

Oklahoma Baptist visits Henderson for the first time in program history with the two teams meeting for the second time. Henderson claimed a 22-14 victory last year in Shawnee, Okla.

The Bison rank 11th in the GAC in total offense averaging 354.6 yards per game. Last week the OKBU compiled 473 yards of offense against Southwestern Oklahoma.       Â
Dezmond Stegall is the team's signal caller having completed 133-of-243 passes for 1500 yards. Stegall had a big game last week against the Bulldogs completing 25-of-39 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns.
Bison running back Isaiah Mallory needs 70 rushing yards to set the school's single-season record. His current per game average, 119.9 per game, ranks as the second-best total in GAC history.

The sophomore from Aledo, Texas needs just 41 yards to eclipse the 1000-yard mark for the year. Against SWOSU, Mallory carried the ball 27 times for 97 yards. Â Â Â
The receiving crew is led by Josh Pettijohn who has totaled 512 yards on 31 receptions.
The Bison defensive ranks ninth allowing 456 yards per contest, surrendering 249 yards passing and 207 yards rushing per game.       Â
Outside linebacker Levi Jennings leads the squad with 72 tackles including 6.5 stops for lost yardage.
Linebacker Brynden Pitzer has 67 tackles and four tackles for loss, while lineman Dennis Nguyen has 34 total stops and ranks third in the GAC in tackles for loss with 8.0.              Â

Henderson State suffered its second loss in three weeks last Saturday as the Reddies committed four turnovers and had a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. Henderson has committed a total of 10 turnovers in the two losses this year.   Â
Andrew Black completed 17-of-25 passes for 266 and recorded two touchdown passes. Black has run his total to 1206 yards passing for an average of 150.8 yards per game. The sophomore from Tyler, Texas has completed 95-of-151 passes and five touchdowns.

Evan Lassiter also saw action last week completing 6-of-11 passes for 82 yards. The senior from Coral Springs, Fla. has completed 63-of-97 passes for 773 yards this season and has recorded five touchdown tosses. Â Â Â Â Â Â

Jeremy Wilson continues to lead the Reddies in rushing averaging 63.5 yards per game. Wilson has carried the ball 83 times for 508 yards while scoring a team-best eight touchdowns.

Courtney Whitehead is Henderson's top receiver with 38 catches for 565 yards. Whitehead averages 14.9 yards per catch and 70.6 yards per game.
Al Lasker had his biggest game of the season last week with five receptions for 100 yards. Lasker has totaled 11 catches for 194 yards this year.

The Reddie defense surrendered a season-high 508 yards last week including 318 yards passing.          Â
Gary Vines had a career-high 13 tackles against SAU and has run his season total to 60 tackles which is second on the team.              Â
Cameron Sonnier leads the Reddies defensively with 71 tackles including a league-best 9.0 tackles for lost yardage. Sonnier has compiled 36 tackles the past three games. Â
The Reddies are 9-2 under Coach
Scott Maxfield in Homecoming games. The two losses during Maxfield's tenure include a 44-14 loss to Arkansas Tech in 2009 and a 28-24 setback to Harding in 2014. Â Â
Last year the Reddies delighted the Homecoming crowd with a 29-28 win on the last play of the game as HSU put together a 15-play, 94-yard drive in the final 1:40 for the victory.

• Since 2011, the Reddies have a 49-1 record when leading after the third quarter with the lone loss coming in 2014 to Harding.
• The Reddies have won 27 straight GAC contests when having less turnovers then the opponents.
• During Henderson's five years in the GAC, the Reddies have a 45-4 record when scoring first including a 6-0 record this year. On the flip-side, Henderson is 7-8 when their opponents get on the board first.

Jaquan Cole ranks eighth all-time in career rushing yards with 2,154. The senior from Cedar Hill, Texas needs nine yards to pass Arthur Burnett who had 2,162 yards from 2002-05. Bernard Palmer holds the Reddie record with 3,408 yards from 2005-08.

Houston Ray ranks second in extra-points during a career with 125. Charles Gonsalves holds the record with 132 (141 att.) from 2011 to 2014.
