The Henderson State women's basketball team faces its first Oklahoma road trip of the year this weekend when it heads to Ada on Thursday for a matchup with East Central at 5:30 p.m., and Durant on Saturday to play Southeastern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m.
Series:
The Reddies are 3-10 all-time against East Central, but split the two meetings with the Tigers last season. Henderson has fared slightly better against SOSU, and split with the Savage Storm in 2015-16, but still trail in the overall series 6-9.
Henderson State Notes (2-4):
The Reddies come into their first Great American Conference road game 2-4 on the year, but undefeated in conference play at 2-0 with home wins over Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist.
Freshmen have been big for Henderson thus far as guards 
Pink Jones and 
Hailey Estes have both cemented themselves early on as important contributors to the Reddies' success. Jones leads the team, and is sixth in the conference, in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per game on 55 percent shooting from the field and is the top scoring freshman in the GAC, while Estes is third in scoring with 12.2 points per game, second on the team in rebounding with 7.2 boards per game and has tallied double-doubles in the first two GAC games of her career.
The returners for the Reddies have also played well, as junior guard 
Haleigh Henson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game, sophomore guard 
Torrie Thompson is averaging 10.3 points per game and has hit half of her shots from the 3-point line so far this year (16-32), sophomore guard 
Lexis Weber leads the team in rebounding, pulling down eight boards per game and junior forward 
Bree Bossier is averaging 9.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 88 percent from the free throw line.
As a team, Henderson is the top scoring offense in the conference, averaging 79.5 points per game, second in free throw shooting at 76 percent and is third in 3-point shooting at 36 percent from behind the arc. The Reddies offensive attack has been incredibly balanced so far in 2016-17, with four players averaging double-figures in scoring through six games.
East Central Notes (1-5):
The Tigers are 1-5 so far in 2016-17 and 0-2 in the GAC. They are led by senior forward Whitney Stotler, who averages 10 points per game and junior guard Devon Branch who averages nine points per game. Senior forward Jayln Jackson was an All-GAC Honorable Mention honoree last season for the Tigers and currently leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 6.7 rebounds a game.
ECU is last in the league in scoring, averaging 48.2 points per contest, and is shooting just 32 percent from the field and 58 percent from the foul line.
Southeastern Oklahoma State Notes (3-2):
The Savage Storm is 3-2 overall and 2-0 in GAC play coming into Saturday afternoon's game. They are led by Olivia Potter, who is second in the GAC in scoring with 16.4 points per game, is shooting 45 percent from behind the 3-point line this season, already has 21 3-pointers to her credit in 2016-17 and was named GAC Player of the Week two weeks ago. Rachel Wallace is also a big contributor for SOSU – she is shooting 47 percent from the arc this year and is averaging 10.8 points per game. Katie Webb leads the Savage Storm in rebounding with 6.4 boards a game.
As a team, SOSU is fifth in the GAC in 3-point shooting, hitting 34.1 percent of their threes on the year.
