Reddie Baseball Loses in 12 Innings To Harding 6-5

Henderson State would rally from a five run deficit, but would lose in the 12th-inning as Harding beat the Reddies 6-5.
 
Henderson trailed 5-0 through five innings, but scored runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to force the game into extra frames.
 
Harding jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with the help of an Alan Copeland double.
 
The Bisons added three more runs in the fourth-inning to increase their lead to 5-0. Harding put together four hits in the frame with Copeland having another double and Chris Taylor also driving in a run with a double of his own.
 
Henderson State would get on the board in the sixth-inning as Hayden Lessenberry ripped a single up the middle to score Alan Hall who singled earlier in the frame.
 
The Reddies drew closer in the seventh as Tadarious Hawkins got things started with a single followed by Alex Morgan reaching on an error.
 
Hawkins would score on another Bison error, then Jake Gaul singled to right field to score Morgan to make the score 5-3 after seven innings of play.
 
Henderson tied the score in the eighth-inning as AJ Kruzel led off the inning with a single and advanced to third on Jared Gage's double to right field.
 
Kruzel scored on a ground out by Hawkins with Gage later scoring on Gaul's RBI single to center field.
 
In the Harding 12th, Copeland walked to lead off the inning followed by a single by Noah Chandler. Tyler Mohr would provide the game-winning hit with a single to right field to plate Copeland.

Chris Hunt started the game on the mound for the Reddies and went six innings, surrendering eight hits while striking out six batters.

Nick Vanthillo pitched the final 2 1/3 innings and would be tabbed with the loss.

Henderson totaled 11 hits in the game with Lessenberry leading the way with three hits, while Gaul and Hawkins had two hits each.

The teams will play a double-header Saturday in Searcy, Ark. with the first game set for Noon.
