A pair of strong pitching performances led Henderson State to a double-header sweep of Harding as the Reddies won 4-1 and 3-1, Saturday at Jerry Moore Field in Searcy, Ark.
Luke Tebbetts pitched seven innings in game one to pick up his first win of the season, allowing seven hits and striking out six batters, while
Zach Eschberger went six innings in the finale surrendering five hits and fanning eight Bison batters.
Completing the job were relief pitchers
Jay Hawley and
Blake Patterson who both earned a save.
Hawley retired all six batters he faced in striking out three in relief of Tebbetts, while Patterson pitched the final inning for Eschberger retiring the side in order.
After three scoreless innings in the opener, the Reddies struck for a pair of runs in the top half of the fourth-inning as
Tadarious Hawkins smacked a single to left field and advanced to second on a balk.
Hawkins stole third and scored when
Alex Morgan grounded out to the shortstop for the first run of the game.
Jake Gaul would reach on Henderson's second single of the inning and also advance to second on a balk.
Alan Hall then laced a single back up the middle to plate Gaul.
Henderson manufactured a run in the sixth when Morgan was hit by a pitch and stole second. Morgan later scored on a ground out by
Hunter Mayall.
The final run came in the eighth frame as the Reddies loaded the base with singles by
Matt Evans and Hall and a walk surrendered to Lessenberry.

In the finale, the Reddies trailed 1-0 in the fifth before
