Reddies Walk To A 6-5 Win Over Arkansas Tech In 10 Innings

Alan Hall received a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Henderson State a 6-5 win over Arkansas Tech, Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

In the Reddie 10th-inning, Tadarious Hawkins began the inning with a double down the left field line. The senior outfielder would then steal third for his GAC leading 11 stolen base.

Pinch hitter Hayden Lessenberry would then be hit by a pitch. Pinch runner Byrious Hughes entered the game for Lessenberry as Alex Morgan stepped to the plate.

Hawkins, however, would get thrown out at third when Morgan missed a bunt attempt.
Morgan reached on an infield single as Hughes advanced to second.

Henderson, 6-8 overall and 3-1 in the GAC, loaded the bases when Jake Gaul reached on catcher's interference. With two outs, Nate Rutherford issued Hall a walk to score Hughes for the game-winner.

The Reddies would take a 3-0 lead in the first-inning as Hall led off the game with a walk followed by a Hunter Mayall single to centerfield. Jordan Taylor plated Hall when he doubled down the right field line.

AJ Kruzel would hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Mayall and Taylor later scored on a single by Jared Gage.

Arkansas Tech, 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the GAC, scored two runs in the second with Kyle Love supplying a home run.

Henderson would add a run in the third as Taylor singled and scored on a wild pitch, and another run in the seventh as Taylor hit a solo home run to right-center field.

In the ATU eighth, Love would hit his second home run of the game to cut the deficit to 5-3. The Wonder Boys weren't done as they loaded the bases and got a run when Blake King was hit by a pitch.

The Wonder Boys would tie the score in the ninth with the help of three walks and two wild pitches in the frame.

Jay Hawley would pitch the 10th-inning for the Reddies and hold the Wonder Boys scoreless in the frame and eventually get the win.

Henderson totaled 12 hits with Taylor going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs batted in. Kruzel and Morgan had two hits each with Kruzel driving in a run.

Luke Tebbetts started the game on the mound for the Reddies and pitched seven complete innings allowing two runs on six hits while striking out four batters.
