The Henderson State women's basketball team fell to East Central in a low-scoring 59-49 affair on Thursday evening in Ada, Okla.
Henderson State could not overcome shooting just 37 percent from the field and 17 percent from three, as the Reddies finished the game making 17-of-46 attempts from the field.
After trailing 15-12 at the end of the first quarter, the Reddies outscored ECU 10-9 in the second, but were outscored 35-27 in the second half as East Central got 18 points from Jalyn Jackson in the contest.
Leading the way for the Reddies was
Victoria Stewart, as she was the lone Reddie to score in double-figures with 15 points on 6-of-13 attempts from the field.
Dulincia Keener was two points shy of a double-double, as the senior from Texarkana scored eight points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Also scoring eight points each for the Reddies were
Haleigh Henson and
Moe Bedford.
The Reddies finished the contest knocking down an impressive 12-of-13 attempts from the charity stripe for 92 percent, while ECU was 9-of-11 for 82 percent.
ECU was able to capitalize off of 20 Reddie turnovers and score 19 points, while only committing ten turnovers.
Henderson State will look to bounce back on Saturday at Southeastern Oklahoma, with tipoff set for 1 p.m. in Durant, Okla.
