The Henderson State women's basketball team could not overcome a 44 percent shooting outing from Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday, as the Reddies fell 68-51 to the Savage Storm in Durant, Okla.
Henderson State(8-7 GAC) was out-scored 20-9 in the second quarter, and did not score in the final seven minutes of the quarter, which was the turning point of the game as the Reddies trailed 34-21 at the half.
The Reddies finished the game making 18-of-56 attempts from the field for 32 percent, while SOSU(8-7 GAC) knocked down 30-of-68 attempts for 44 percent including 5-of-16 from three.
Henderson State struggled from the three-point line, making just 2-of-17 attempts, but did have a strong night at the charity stripe knocking down 13-of-16 attempts for 81 percent.
HSU was narrowly edged out in the rebounding category by SOSU 40-39, while SOSU dished out 20 assists to Henderson State's 12.
Dulincia Keener had a strong performance for the Reddies, as the senior forward poured in 17 points on 6-of-13 shootingand ripped down 12 boards for a double-double effort.
Also scoring in double-figures for HSU was
Victoria Stewart as she contributed 13 points, along with
Moe Bedford having a solid night with 12 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Southeastern was led by Rachel Wallace with 16 points, while Katie Webb pitched in 11.
The Reddies return to action at the Duke Wells Center on Thursday against Southern Arkansas, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m.
