Reddies Drop Midweek Tilt To Harding 5-2

Henderson State dropped a midweek non-conference contest to Harding 5-2, Tuesday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
The Reddies, 8-9 on the season, committed three errors which resulted in three unearned runs for the Bisons.
 
Harding, 8-8 on the year, scored an unearned run in the first and another run in the second with the help of two bunt singles.
 
The Reddies would get on the board in the fourth-inning as Hunter Mayall and Hayden Lessenberry both reached on a walk with Mayall scoring on a two-out single by Tadarious Hawkins.
 
The Bisons added a run in the fifth-inning benefitting from a leadoff walk with Zac Stewart reaching on an infield single that would plate Jaxon Mohr. Harding would then add two unearned runs in the sixth to make the score 5-1.

Henderson would threaten in the ninth as Alex Morgan and Joseph Gary would lead off the frame with singles but the Reddies would only score one run as Morgan scored on Mayall's ground out to second.

The Reddies used 20 players in the contest including working out seven pitchers. Blake Patterson got the start, pitching the first two innings allowing four hits, one unearned run and striking out three.

Logan DeRosier would pitch the fourth-inning, retiring the side in order including striking out a pair of Bison batters.

Kris Priddy pitched the seventh and eighth innings, striking out three.

Henderson managed seven hits in the game with Hawkins going 2-for-4 to lead the way.

Also having hits for Henderson were Kearon Redmon and Turner Sparks who recorded his first collegiate single.

The Reddies will begin a three-game Great American Conference series on Friday when they play host to Southeastern Oklahoma with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
The series will continue with a double-header on Saturday beginning at Noon.
