A two-run seventh inning helped propel Arkansas Tech over Henderson State 4-3 in non-conference baseball action in Russellville on Tuesday afternoon.

The Reddies(11-13) got on the board first in the top of the first inning when
AJ Kruzel blasted a home-run over the right field wall to put HSU up 1-0, but Arkansas Tech answered with a Dylan McDearmon homer to even the score in the bottom of the first.

Neither team would score again until the top of the fifth inning when HSU reclaimed the lead as
Hunter Mayall grounded out to the shortstop which allowed
Matt Evans to plate.

However, Tech would answer once again to tie the game 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth as Marcus Wilson homered over the right-center wall.

A scoreless sixth inning proceeded before the Reddies once again took the lead in the top of the seventh as Mayall scored Evans again on a single to left field.

Arkansas Tech would eventually take the lead in the bottom of the inning adding two runs on scores from Blake King and Seth Wheeler to claim the victory as neither team scored again.

Mayall led all Reddies on the day with three hits and two RBI on five at-bats, while
Matt Evans pitched in two hits.

Blake Patterson suffered the loss from the mound for HSU, falling to 1-3Â on the season after pitching 1.1 innings and giving up three hits and two runs.

Kriss Priddy picked up the start for HSU and provided 4.2 innings of work, striking out four batters and giving up two runs.
Â
Arkansas Tech's Lane Norwood would pick up the win for his first victory of the season, providing 1.1 innings of work, while Ethan Taylor started and provided 6.1 innings from the mound.

HSU returns to action this weekend in Great American Conference play at Arkansa-Monticello on Friday with first pitch set for 3 p.m. in a single game.

HSU will take on UAM in a double-header on Saturday beginning at Noon to complete the three-game GAC series.
