Arkansas-Monticello put together a seven run 6
th-inning to beat Henderson State 11-1 on Sunday to complete a three-game Great American Conference series sweep.
Henderson State, 11-16 overall and 8-7 in the GAC, managed six hits in the game with
Jordan Taylor going 2-for-3 with a double.
The Reddies' lone run came in the seventh-inning as
Luke McGuire led off the inning with an infield single.
Tadarious Hawkins followed with a single up the middle to advance McGuire to second.
Jarod Gage provided the Reddies with a RBI single to score McGuire for Henderson's lone run.
UAM, 16-7 and 9-3 in the GAC totaled 10 hits and took advantage of three Reddie errors.
Braden Chambers improved to 5-0 on the mound with a complete-game win, allowing one run off six hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
Chris Hunt was tabbed with the loss pitching 4 1/3 innings, allowing four runs while striking out three batters.
Henderson State returns home for a non-conference game against Hendrix on Tuesday with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
