Henderson State extended its win streak to seven games as the Reddies completed a three-game sweep of Southern Nazarene with a 14-3 win, Saturday in Bethany, Okla.
The Reddies, 23-19 overall and 17-10 in the Great American Conference, picked up where they left off on Friday collecting 12 hits.
Hunter Mayall led the attack going 4-for-5, while
Jordan Taylor and
AJ Kruzel both had two hits and a pair of RBI each.
Taylor started things for the Reddies with a solo home run in the first-inning. It was Taylor's fifth round-tripper of the year.
After SNU tied the score in the second, the Reddies erupted for nine runs on eight hits in the third-inning.
Hayden Lessenberry and
Alex Morgan both supplied two-run singles, while Kruzel laced a two-run double down the leftfield line.
Mayall plated a run in the fifth with a single to left, followed by the Reddies tacking on three more in the sixth-inning with
Luke McGuire having a RBI single, and sacrifice flies by
Kearon Redmon and
Jared Gage. Â
Chris Hunt went the distance on the mound, striking out five batters and improving to 2-6 on the season.
The win clinched a spot for the Reddies in the GAC Tournament beginning May 6.
The Reddies will return home on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Union with the first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
