Reddie Baseball Extends Win Streak to 7 Games with 14-3 Win

Henderson State extended its win streak to seven games as the Reddies completed a three-game sweep of Southern Nazarene with a 14-3 win, Saturday in Bethany, Okla.

The Reddies, 23-19 overall and 17-10 in the Great American Conference, picked up where they left off on Friday collecting 12 hits.

Hunter Mayall led the attack going 4-for-5, while Jordan Taylor and AJ Kruzel both had two hits and a pair of RBI each.

Taylor started things for the Reddies with a solo home run in the first-inning. It was Taylor's fifth round-tripper of the year.

After SNU tied the score in the second, the Reddies erupted for nine runs on eight hits in the third-inning.

Hayden Lessenberry and Alex Morgan both supplied two-run singles, while Kruzel laced a two-run double down the leftfield line.

Mayall plated a run in the fifth with a single to left, followed by the Reddies tacking on three more in the sixth-inning with Luke McGuire having a RBI single, and sacrifice flies by Kearon Redmon and Jared Gage.

Chris Hunt went the distance on the mound, striking out five batters and improving to 2-6 on the season.

The win clinched a spot for the Reddies in the GAC Tournament beginning May 6.

The Reddies will return home on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Union with the first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
