Reddies Drop Series Opener to Oklahoma Baptist 10-0

Henderson State's eight-game winning streak came to an end as Oklahoma Baptist beat the Reddies 10-0 Friday at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Reddies, 24-20 overall and 17-11 in the Great American Conference, went up against the top pitcher in the league in Jinny Parra.

Parra limited the Reddies to three hits and struck out four batters in seven innings of work to improve to 9-3 on the season.

The Bison, 28-14 and 18-10, scored five runs in the opening frame to set the tone with the big hit being a three-run double by Cody Ziegler.

Reddie starting pitcher Luke Tebbetts went on to retire 17 of the next 18 batters he faced before running into trouble in the seventh. Oklahoma Baptist would score four runs in the frame.

Henderson never mounted a big offensive threat as the Reddies totaled five base runners in the game.

Luke McGuire had a double for Henderson, with Tadarious Hawkins, Hayden Lessenberry and Jake Gaul all having singles.

The two teams will finish the three-game series with a double-header Saturday at Clyde Berry Field with the first pitch set for 1 p.m.
