Brittany Branum scored a career-high 31 points to lead Henderson State to an 87-74 win over Northwestern Oklahoma, Saturday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.

The sophomore from Greenwood, Ark. surpassed her previous career-high of 15 points in the first-half scoring 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field.

Branum had plenty of help as Pink Jones and Haleigh Henson picked up several assists with impressive passing underneath.

Henderson, 5-7 overall and 5-1 in the GAC, built a 28-12 lead by the end of the first-quarter as the Reddies forced 10 Ranger turnovers, scoring 11 points off the miscues.

The Reddies held Northwestern scoreless for the first four minutes of the second quarter and increased the lead to 36-12.

Branum added 9 points in the second quarter with Hailey Estes scoring 8 points including a pair of 3-point field goals as Henderson took a 54-23 advantage into the locker room.

Northwestern Oklahoma, 3-10 and 2-4, turned the tables on Henderson in the second-half outscoring the Reddies 51 to 33 as the Rangers went from shooting just 23 percent from the floor in the first half to hitting on 50 percent from the field in the second 20 minutes.

The Reddies committed 15 turnovers in the second-half which allowed Northwestern to score 21 points off the Henderson mistakes.

Henderson still managed to hold off the Rangers as Torrie Thompson scored all 8 of her points in the second-half.

In addition to Branum's performance, Pink Jones finished with a triple-double for the Reddies having 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Estes finished the game with a double-double herself having 15 points and a team-best 13 rebounds.
