Volleyball Falls at Southwestern Oklahoma State, 3-0

WEATHERFORD, Okla. — Henderson State had leads in all three sets on Saturday against Southwestern Oklahoma State, but fell in all three and lost to the Lady Bulldogs 3-0 (21-25, 18-25, 21-25).

SET ONE: Behind three early kills from Courtney Bolf, Henderson held a 12-10 lead in the first set, but an 8-2 SWOSU run turned the tide in their favor, as the Lady Bulldogs gradually pulled away from the Reddies to win it 25-21 and take a 1-0 lead.

SET TWO: HSU again had the lead in the second frame, this time claiming a 12-9 advantage after a kill by Zuzana Ondruskova. But once again, the Lady Bulldogs had a big run in them, as they ripped off a 12-4 stretch which gave them a 21-16 lead. The Reddies never came within four points again, as SWOSU eased to a 25-18 victory and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

SET THREE: The Reddies had an advantage as large as four points in the final set and led 17-14 late after three straight kills from Violet Williams, Bolf and Maddy Wisniewski, but SWOSU was too much on its home court, as the Lady Bulldogs won 11 of the final 15 points in the set to take it 25-21 and close the match out, 3-0.

GAME NOTES: Bolf and Sariah Boney both had double-doubles for the second straight night. Bolf led the team in kills with 21 and added a team-high 18 digs, while Boney had 17 assists and 13 digs. Abby Blackburn led HSU with 20 assists and Karlie Greene had three blocks.

UP NEXT: Henderson travels to Russellville, Arkansas on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. to face off with undefeated and nationally-ranked Arkansas Tech. The Reddies won last season's match up in Russellville.
