Henderson State returns to Great American Conference action on Thursday as the Reddies play host to Southern Nazarene with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.

The Reddies, 3-2 on the year and 1-1 in the GAC, have won their last two games including a 104-89 victory last Saturday over Texas College. Henderson used 63 percent shooting from the field to beat the Steers.
Josh Jones led Henderson with a career-high 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor. Jones leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 17.4 points per contest. The junior from Memphis, Tenn. is successful on 56 percent shooting from the field including 55 percent from the 3-point arc.

Kaylon Tappin follows averaging 14.6 points and has made 30-of-37 shots from the foul line. The senior from Little Rock scored 20 points against the Crimson Storm last year in Henderson's 76-72 win in Arkadelphia. Tappin scored a career-high 33 points and made a HSU record 18 free throws earlier this season against Southwestern Oklahoma.

Chris Parker ranks second among freshmen in the GAC averaging 12.4 points per contest. The product of Plano, Texas has totaled 35 points in the last two games and is Henderson's top free throw shooter hitting on 21-of-25 shots from the charity stripe for 84.0 percent.   Â

Southern Nazarene enters the contest with a 4-1 overall record and are 2-0 in GAC play.
The Crimson Storm suffered their lone loss last Saturday against Oklahoma Christian. SNU shot just 31 percent from the field against the Eagles.        Â
The Crimson Storm are averaging 80.4 points per game offensively, and are allowing 70.8 points per game defensively. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
SNU is second in the league in field goal percentage hitting with a 50.2 percentage from the floor including a 40.2 percentage from the 3-point arc.                   Â

The Reddies will have to contend with the top two scorers in the league as
Jhonathan Dunn leads the GAC averaging 20.5 points per game, while
Micah Speight is second at 20.2 points per contest.        Â
Dunn scored a season-high 26 points against Southern Arkansas. The sophomore from San Antonio, Texas totaled 23 points in the two games against the Reddies a year ago.       Â

Speight has scored at least 16 points in all five games this season including 20 or more points three times. The sophomore from Oklahoma City, Okla. is perfect at the foul line having converted on all 29 attempts this year.
Noah Starkey is also averaging double-figures with 17.2 points per game and is the team's leading rebounder and ranks third in the GAC at 8.2 boards per outing. Last year against the Reddies, Starkey has 12 points and 13 rebounds in the game played in Arkadelphia.
Southern Nazarene leads the all-time series with Henderson State having a 9-6 advantage including winning three of the last four contests. The Reddies are 4-3 in games played against the Crimson Storm in the Duke Wells Center. The two teams spilt the series last year with the home team winning both games.
