Reddies Baseball Take Double-Header from Northwestern Oklahoma

Henderson State extended its conference winning streak to five games as the Reddies swept a double-header from Northwestern Oklahoma, Saturday in Alva, Okla.

The Reddies, 25-17 overall and 18-11 in the GAC, banged out 16 hits to win game one 14-7, then took advantage of eight walks and three hit batters to win the nightcap 5-0.

In the opener, five Reddies had multiple hits with Parker Jones leading the way going 3-for-5 with five runs batted in including a two-run single in the sixth-inning.

Colton Coffman continues to be hot at the plate going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI, with Nolan Ryan going 3-for-6.

Dylan McCain and Brentten Schwabb had two hits each in the contest with Jordan Taylor having a two-run double.

Luke Tebbetts pitched 6 innings and struck out three batters to pick up the win and improve to 8-2 on the year.

Logan DeRossier pitched the final three inning allowing just one hit.

In game two, the Reddies scored four runs in the first-inning without the benefit of a hit. Henderson took advantage of four walks and two Ranger errors in the inning.

Henderson increased its lead to 5-0 in the second-inning as Coffman reached on a two-out walk and advanced to third on a double by Jones. Coffman would later score on a wild pitch.

Bryant Haralson went the distance on the mound to improve to 7-3 on the year. The junior from Atkins, Ark. struck out a career-high 12 batters while allowing just three hits in
picking up his fifth shutout victory of the year.

Henderson will attempt to go for its second GAC series sweep on Sunday when the two teams play the finale at 1 p.m.
