Henderson State's postseason hopes are on the line Thursday as the Reddies travel to Magnolia, Ark. to face Southern Arkansas with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.

The Muleriders currently occupy the eighth and final spot for the GAC Tournament with a 13-13 record overall and 9-11 in the league, while the Reddies are one game back at 13-13 and 8-12.
Chris Parker has been Henderson's hot player as of late averaging 18.5 points in the last six games. The freshman from Plano, Texas scored a career-high 26 points in Tuesday's loss to Ouachita and now averages 14.3 points per game this season.      Â

Kaylon Tappin still leads the Reddies averaging 18.3 points despite scoring just 5 points on Tuesday. The Little Rock senior needs just 23 points to become the 22nd Reddie to score 500 points in a season. Tappin scored 11 points in the first game against SAU.

Josh Jones scored 17 points last month against the Muleriders. The junior from Memphis is scoring 14.0 points per game. Jones leads the team in 3-point shooting at 42 percent making 50-of-119 attempts.

DJ Franklin led the Reddies the first time out against SAU scoring 18 points including knocking down 4-of-5 three-point field goals. The sophomore from Monticello averages 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season.
Southern Arkansas is averaging 77.6 points per game and boasts a top-three scoring defense in the GAC at 72.0 points per game.
CJ Elkins leads the team in scoring averaging 13.6 points per game and also leads the team in assists with 85.

Senior guard Keeton Tennison ranks fourth in the league in three-point field goal percentage successfully knocking down over 48 percent of his attempts. Tennison averages 11.0 points per contest including 20 points in the first game against the Reddies.

Southern Arkansas owns the best rebounding average in the conference at 40.5 per game. DeVante Brooks leads the team averaging a league-best 7.3 rebounds per game. Earlier against Henderson, Brooks scored 12 points and grabbed 15 boards.

Henderson State leads the all-time series against Southern Arkansas having an 103-73 advantage. The Muleriders have won four of the last five meetings. Henderson has lost three straight road games to SAU with the last win at the Watson Center being a 59-43 victory on March 1, 2014.        Â
