Harding Post Play Hurts Henderson in 87-72 Loss

SEARCY, Ark. — Henderson State got 35 combined points from the Jones sisters on Saturday evening, but Harding scored 54 points in the paint and used its size to muscle past the Reddies 87-72 at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Pink Jones finished with 22 points and was 10-of-11 from the free throw line to lead the Reddies, while Blu Jones had 13 and Hailey Estes added 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Reddies (17-7, 12-6) trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half but got a 3-pointer from Mains Mains and a bucket from Lexis Weber to close the second quarter on a 5-0 run and cut the deficit to 38-28 at the break.

HSU continued to trim the lead in the third and out-scored Harding in the quarter 23-21 to bring it within 58-51 entering the fourth. It was all Lady Bisons in the final period, however, as Harding's Kellie Lampo scored 19 of her career-high 39 points in the fourth to carry HU to the win.

Henderson shot 28.8 percent from the floor in the loss and hit on just nine of its 38 3-point attempts in the game. Harding's post trio of Lampo, Cheyenne Brown, and Kennedy Cooper combined to score 70 of the team's 87 points on the night.

The Reddies return to the court on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. when they face unbeaten Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
