Henderson Adds 33 on National Signing Day

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State welcomed 33 additions to the Reddie football team Wednesday on 2019 National Signing Day.

"I believe we have identified young men and their families who fit what we are looking for at Henderson State," head coach Scott Maxfield said. "That's huge for us because our niche here is developing young men who fit with us and are motivated by the environment here to be great. We have done that very well in this cycle. All of these young men will have an opportunity to come in and make an impact in our program, including some who will get that chance as true freshmen."

The Reddies haul of signees includes 12 prospects that hail from the state of Arkansas as well as 21 from the bordering states of Texas and Louisiana.

Henderson's primary focus from a numbers perspective was along the trenches on both sides of the ball, as the Reddies brought in seven players apiece on the offensive and defensive lines of scrimmage. The secondary saw five new additions, while the linebacking corps and pass catchers added four each. HSU finalized the class with two running backs, one quarterback, one designated athlete, and two special teams-specific contributors.
