MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Henderson State's Luisa Gartmann qualified for the NCAA National Championships as an individual on Tuesday and the Reddies finished seventh as a team on the final day of the 2019 Central Regional at Muskogee Country Club.
The senior from Hannover, Germany, shot 7-over 78 and 5-over 76 in the last two rounds of competition to place ninth overall with a three-day score of 15-over par and claim one of the four individual bids to the NCAA DII National Championships next week. The top four players whose teams do not qualify for nationals earn automatic berths as individuals.
The Reddies, who turned in a 308 in round two and 311 in round three, finished just six strokes back of fourth place and the last bid to the national finals with a 54-hole score of 937.
Taylor Loeb led Henderson on Tuesday and carded rounds of 2-over 73 and 6-over 77 to tie for 14th individually. The junior from Little Rock, Arkansas, had five birdies across the 36 holes.
Hanna Brauburger turned in back-to-back rounds of 78 to tie for 37th, while Taylor Reed shot 79 and 80 to finish tied for 46th.
Southwestern Oklahoma State won the regional title with a team score of 893. Arkansas Tech, Northeastern State and Central Missouri, who finished second, third and fourth, respectively, also claimed spots in the NCAA Championships next week.
The NCAA DII National Championships will be played May 14-18 at the PGA National Resort Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
