ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State's men's and women's swim team competed for the final time in the Duke Wells Natatorium this season and celebrated Senior Day against a talented Oklahoma Baptist squad. There was nothing to separate the two men's squads, as they fought to a 102-102 tie. Unfortunately, the women's team fell on Saturday, 123-79.
The Red Wave men won five events on the day with two of them coming from Triston Little and Marcus Hernandez. Little touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:54.46) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.07), while Hernandez took first in the 100-yard butterfly (52.34) and the 100-yard backstroke (54.03).Â
Stephen Jones nabbed the fifth win of the night for HSU, topping the podium in the 100-yard freestyle (46.46).
On the women's side, Ceci Magnani and Elam Fulton each took home a couple of first place finishes. Magnani took first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:12.78) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:28.18).
