ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Henderson State men's and women's swimming team kicked off its home-and-home series with Ouachita Baptist Friday evening, with the men claiming their second victory of the season at its cross-street rival, 109-93, while the ladies fell short, 138-65. The Red Wave men won their home opener against the TigerSharks 78-49 back on Jan. 15.

With both schools splitting the individual races, the Henderson men won the meet in the relays as they took the top spot in both the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:09.97) and the 400 medley relay (3:33.75).

Stephen Jones did claim two individual victories for the Red Wave as he touched the wall first in the 100 yard freestyle (46.46) and also in the 200 yard freestyle (1:44.25) where he bested the second-place swimmer by a whole four seconds.

The top two spots of the 50 yard freestyle were held by HSU swimmers as
Patryk Dabrowski (21.50) edged out teammate Lamar Taylor by two-hundredths of a second.
Jaren Tippett rounded out the individual victories for the Red Wave with a time of 2:16.16 in the 200 yard breastroke.

Despite a tough night for the Henderson State women, sophomore
Isabelle Andrews held her own for the Red Wave women as she claimed two solo victories in the 50 yard freestyle (25.91) and the 200 yard butterfly (2:14.94). Tonight marked Andrews' third individual victory of the season.

Aly Voos claimed second in the massive 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 18:44.49.

Maya Robles claimed the second and third spot, respectively, in the 200 yard IM.

Henderson State will see Ouachita Baptist again in 13 hours when OBU comes over to the Wells Natatorium at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow for the second time this season. Â
