MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Henderson State threw three pitchers in game three but could not find an answer for Southern Arkansas as the Muleriders came away with the 12-0 game-three win.
Kaitlyn O'Quinn registered one hit in the outing as she kept up with her league-leading hit count of 35 coming into this weekend. O'Quinn also had a hit in each of yesterday's two games.
Southern Arkansas saw all 12 runs in its first two at-bats as freshman
Savannah Carrigan and junior
Mallory Brewer were able to muster one strikeout each amidst the barrage of scoring.
Krystal Lindsey stopped the bleeding after entering the game with two outs still needed in the bottom of the second. After SAU had seen 9 hits in 1.1 innings of play, the freshman pitcher only gave up two more hits the rest of the way while having allowing two earned runs.
The damage had been done up to that point, however, as the pre-season No. 1 ranked Muleriders closed out the weekend series with the 12-0 victory. Henderson State will return to action when it heads across the street to take on rival Ouachita Baptist Tuesday, April 6 at 5 p.m.
