MEET RESULTS
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –
Patryk Dabrowski, Jace Pinckney and
Lamar Taylor each took first-place nods on the afternoon as Henderson State competed in their second-to-last regular season meets Friday afternoon in Little Rock against a pair of Division I teams. The men swam against Southern Illinois while the women swam against both Arkansas-Little Rock and the Salukis.
The men dropped their meet against Little Rock, 184-78, while the Red Wave women fell in their dual-meet to Southern Illinois and Little Rock, 212-47 and 168-86, respectively.
Patryk Dabrowski claimed an impressive pair of first-place finishes over Southern Illinois in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle. Dabrowski came out with a bang in the 200 as he finished just three seconds shy of the HSU record, touching the wall first at 1:41.89.
In the 500, the sophomore from Wroclaw, Poland, topped the podium with a time of 4:49.58, edging out his second-place SIU competitor by 11 hundredths of a second.

Jase Pinckney was the other Red Wave member to see victory on the afternoon as he took top honors in the 100 fly. His time of 50.63 was also a mere three seconds shy of former-teammate
Stephen Jones' school record.
Lamar Taylor finished out the winners for the men as the current school record holder defeated a pair of Saluki swimmers in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.87. The Freeport, Bahamas, native followed that with a third-place finish in the 200 back (1:58.06).
For the women,
Ceci Magnani,
Kiara Pozvai and
Emma Jorgensen each earned Top-3 finishes in their respective races. Magnani beat out her competition from Little Rock by nearly five whole seconds as the senior distance swimmer touched at 11:09.68.
Kiara Pozvai also defeated any UALR swimmer in the 200 freestyle as she finished in third with a time of 1:57.74. The freshman followed that with yet another third-place finish out of 20 swimmers in the 100 free (52.78). Pozvai did not compete in the 50 free.
Fellow freshman
Emma Jorgensen followed suit by beating her Little Rock competition in the 200 IM, finding her way onto the podium with a 2:11.87 time.
Henderson State will close out its 2021-22 regular season with the second edition of the Battle of the Ravine when HSU goes over to the Waggoner Pool on OBU's campus Friday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.
