ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State was edged out by Harding University in three sets.
Freshman outside hitter Aleah Stogner led the Henderson attack with 11 kills and an attack percentage of .205. Setter
Madison Hatt continues to rack up double-doubles, recording her ninth of the year with 13 digs and 12 digs.
In the defense,
Christiane Uzoh and
Brae Denton commanded the net with four and three total blocks, respectively. Dani Dagley led the Reddie backline with 25 digs while also registering seven assists and a service ace.
The Reddies (8-18, 2-12) will play their last home match of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m. against Southern Arkansas University. It will also be senior night, so before the match, seniors will be recognized before taking the court and playing their final sets in the Duke Wells Center.
SET ONE
The Lady Bison struck first, and a flurry of attacks quickly put them ahead 5-1. The Reddies responded with a three-point run, down 5-4, but Harding returned fire scoring four points in a row to lead 9-4. Harding kept a slim advantage till a five-point run gave them some breathing room and would see out a 25-13 set victory.
SET TWO
Harding shot out to a 7-1 lead and continued to add to its advantage, going up 17-13. A five-point run by the Reddies fueled by two kills from
Kaitlyn Sykes gave Henderson an 18-17 advantage. The Lady Bison would outscore HSU 8-2 to win the second set of the match 25-20.
SET THREE
A quick start by Henderson St. put them ahead 5-2. Harding would climb back and tie the set at eight all and eventually take a 9-8 lead. The Reddies responded immediately, tying the set three times before taking a 15-14 lead. A flurry of attacks by the Lady Bison put them ahead 20-15, and another spurt of attacks would close the set-out, winning
